How APS is calculated
APS (Admission Point Score) converts your subject marks into points. Most SA universities use 6 subjects (excluding Life Orientation). Maximum score: 42 points.
${[
'Life Orientation is excluded from APS at most universities (some include it at half value).',
'Mathematics gives access to more programs than Mathematical Literacy. Programs like Engineering, Medicine, Actuarial Science REQUIRE Mathematics.',
'Many programs have additional subject requirements beyond APS — e.g. Medicine requires Physical Science.',
'APS is a minimum — popular programs may require much higher scores due to competition.',
'Each university may calculate APS slightly differently. Always verify with the institution.',
'National Benchmark Tests (NBTs) are required by some universities in addition to APS.',
